There is nothing wrong with sitting on the couch and staring at your own reflection in the fireplace glass. It is okay to do nothing. Flashes of genius may hit you at the time when you are not moving at all.
They may also hit you when you are sitting in a traffic jam. So, please, always listen to those unexpected visits from the muse and keep a notepad and a pen handy.
Collect all those nuggets of inspiration and expand on them when you can.
